Winning Steps South West has contracts with both Devon County Council for Community Based Day Support, and Cornwall Council for Supporting Independence. Winning Steps South West is also CHAS accredited and has all the policies, procedures and insurances you would expect.

We offer a full day programme based around the concept of Healthy Living and Wellbeing. All the activities have been designed to improve physical and mental health, build independence skills and reduce social isolation. Activities may include the following:

  • Exercise – walks, trips to National Trust gardens, yoga, dancing, seated exercise
  • Horticulture – growing vegetables, herbs and flowering plants
  • Creative arts – craft, photography, music
  • Animal Interaction – feeding, grooming and being with our animals
  • Independence skills – IT safety, hygiene, healthy eating, personal safety, budgeting

Our ethos at Winning Steps South West is to empower individuals to make a change to their local community. Each year we select a local charity to support, and actively raise funds through craft projects and growing plants.

All service users will compile a journal throughout their time with us. This is their own personal record of what they have done, their experience, thoughts and emotions, and can be completed using photos, pictures, writing, drawings and other materials.

Winning Steps South West is a very inclusive environment, where we will listen to and communicate with both the service user and any significant people who support them such as family, friends, carers and social services. To enable transparency and cohesion everyone has a Handover Book where comments and observations are written down by staff, carers and the service user themselves.

We provide transport from various pick-up places in Devon and Cornwall, so please speak to us to discuss your requirements.

Transport is included in the cost, as is tea and coffee. Lunch is not included, so we ask that you bring a packed lunch.

Payment for this programme can be made through the council from personal budgets or direct to Winning Steps South West. Please speak to us about the prices.
