About Winning Steps South West

Young People

We work with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in our community, helping them to gain real practical skills through work experience programmes, which can then be taken forward into apprenticeships, work or further education. The training programmes also help with personal and social development, encouraging self-esteem, emotional resilience and communication skills.

Adults with LDD

Our groups for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities focus on independence skills and healthy living. We offer a wide range of workshops and activities within the groups, including exercise, craft, gardening, IT safety, making healthy choices, social skills. Session content is client focused and aims to build on existing strengths.

Adults with Physical and Mental Health Issues

This group focuses on the long-term unemployed whose issues have prevented them from engaging in work. We offer courses to gain skills and knowledge which can then be taken forward into volunteering, work or further education. This is within a small group setting with an emphasis on building self-esteem and inter-personal skills.

Our Vision

Our adult clients are often marginalised by society and have difficulty in engaging with their local community. We aim to provide an inclusive environment where the focus is on personal strengths, emotional resilience and independence, enabling all individuals to reach their potential and live fulfilling lives.

Our land-based work experience for young people aims to equip them with real skills that are relevant to today's employers, to build their self-confidence and instil in them a “can do” attitude that will take them forward into the next step of an apprenticeship, further training or employment.
